The Start

It all started 25 years ago at dawn on a sultry morning in July when 40 friends gathered in Battersea Park, all with the common goal of raising money for a fledgling charity. The 3-day route to Monte Carlo was long and arduous, the hotels were basic and the food decidedly dodgy. But the event had captured the imagination of all who took part, and an annual classic was born.

Although today's event is unrecognisable from its humble origins, it has retained its sense of fun, style and adventure, bringing together an eclectic group each July for a week-long party.
