The Grand Tour 2018

Portugal, Spain and France – Lisbon to Biarritz

Our plans for 2018 are now set, and we have a spectacular six-day, thousand mile adventure lined up for the 19th running of The Grand Tour. We kick off with a party and overnight stay in the heart of one of Europe’s oldest and most vibrant capitals, Lisbon, before the flag drops and we head east for Spain. The route takes in mile after mile of smooth, deserted and gently twisting roads as we head north, over the Pyrenees before crossing the finish line on the beach in Biarritz. As always, there will be fabulous hotels, great food and meticulous organisation. ENTRY IS NOW OPEN – to receive the brochure or to reserve your place, email Lisa now at lisa@gtoevents.com

The RM Alpine Tour 2018

Mulhouse to Monaco, in time for the Monaco Historic Grand Prix

Join us for the ultimate Monaco Historic Grand Prix experience with our friends, RM Auctions. The RM Alpine Tour starts with a visit to one of the world’s greatest car museums, the Cite de l’Automobile (home of The Schlumph collection) in Mulhouse, north-east France. From there we head due south through Switzerland and across the Alps, along some of the most famous driving roads in Europe. After two days (and two nights in glorious hotels) we will arrive in Monaco in time for packed programme of hospitality and privileged access throughout the weekend, including a private preview of RM’s auction of spectacular cars. Road Trip – USA

California

Our American adventure was a spectacular success, taking in the unforgettable scenery of northern California including Napa, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite before we arrived in Monterey in time for the highlights of Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours. Our next US adventure will be in 2019.

Who are we?

Jeremy Jackson Sytner and Chris Bucknall have been organising tours for over 25 years. The philosophy behind the success of their tours is simple – focus on the people, not the cars (although if you look at the photos of previous events, you would be forgiven for thinking otherwise). We think of our events as parties on wheels (we leave the regularities, the 6am starts and the 3 star hotels to others). The Grand Tour is all about having fun, and bringing some good old-fashioned style to proceedings. The hotels are always the best in the regions we travel through, generally intimate, rural castles which we often take over. The menus, the wine and the hospitality are all planned with care and passion, and we make sure everyone arrives at the hotels in plenty of time to enjoy them.

All our events are underpinned by the kind of attention to detail that only comes with decades of experience. We pore over every detail to ensure our tours run seamlessly, from legal and insurance matters, to luggage arrangements and dietary requirements. Lisa Willoughby and Sara Murtagh are now an integral part of the GTO Events team, helping us to achieve our aim of exceeding the expectations of guests with high expectations.

Jeremy Jackson Sytner & Chris Bucknall
Co-founders of The Grand Tour

Now in its eighteenth year, The Grand Tour is one of the most successful motoring events of its kind in the world. Over the years it has attracted teams from around the world (including Australia, the USA, Nigeria, France, Portugal, Belgium, Holland and Sweden). The event has been started by such luminaries as Jeremy Clarkson and Elizabeth Hurley, and there has even been a tv programme made about it by The Luxury Channel.

In addition to a growing number of tours under the Grand Tour label, GTO Events organises bespoke private tours for individuals and companies (this year we organised a tour to the Monaco Historic Grand Prix for a Ferrari dealership). In 2015 we organised The Highland Tour, part of The Concours of Elegance at The Palace of Holyroodhouse, for which we were awarded Tour of the Year at Octane’s International Historic Motoring Awards.
