Road Trip – USA

California

After 17 years enjoying some of the finest roads in Europe, GTO Events is spreading its wings across the pond for the first-ever Road Trip USA – and you are invited to join us

For our inaugural USA adventure we’re heading west to northern California for a 5-day tour to coincide with the greatest car event in the world, the Monterey Car Week.

The party starts in San Francisco, from where the twenty-five teams will head off to sample the diverse landscapes to the north and east, taking in Napa, the Sacremento Valley, Yosemite and Sierra Navada. And of course you can be sure that the Grand Tour traditions of great food, first-class hotels and meticulous organisation will be firmly on the agenda.

The tour rolls in to Monterey and across the finish line just in time for a long weekend of motoring heaven – The Quail, Concourso Italiano, The Rolex Motorsport Reunion at Laguna Seca, and the Pebble Beach Concours, as well as a host of parties, car launches and auctions.

The itinerary and full details for the Road Trip USA will be available soon. Entry will be limited to just 25 teams, and we already have confirmed guests flying in from around the world. You can save a place by registering now – just email lisa@gtoevents.com

We can arrange a rental car for you (from a modern supercar to a classic muscle car), or we can arrange the shipping of your own car.

The Grand Tour – Coast to Coast Part 2

Portugal & Spain – Lisbon to Barcelona

Planning for The Grand Tour 2018 is already underway, and after the spectacular success of the 2017 event, we are returning to Spain’s spectacular roads and unforgettable scenery for our next European adventure. The tour kicks off on Saturday 16th June 2018 in Lisbon with a party and overnight stay right in the centre of the old city, before the flag drops the following morning. Six days and a thousand miles of classic Grand Touring follows, before we celebrate with another party in Barcelona on Thursday 21st June. Email Lisa now at lisa@gtoevents.com to get on the list and be the first to receive the brochure when it is ready in September.

Who are we?

Jeremy Jackson Sytner and Chris Bucknall have been organising tours for over 25 years. The philosophy behind the success of their tours is simple – focus on the people, not the cars (although if you look at the photos of previous events, you would be forgiven for thinking otherwise). We think of our events as parties on wheels (we leave the regularities, the 6am starts and the 3 star hotels to others). The Grand Tour is all about having fun, and bringing some good old-fashioned style to proceedings. The hotels are always the best in the regions we travel through, generally intimate, rural castles which we often take over. The menus, the wine and the hospitality are all planned with care and passion, and we make sure everyone arrives at the hotels in plenty of time to enjoy them.

All our events are underpinned by the kind of attention to detail that only comes with decades of experience. We pore over every detail to ensure our tours run seamlessly, from legal and insurance matters, to luggage arrangements and dietary requirements. Lisa Willoughby and Sara Murtagh are now an integral part of the GTO Events team, helping us to achieve our aim of exceeding the expectations of guests with high expectations.

Co-founders of The Grand Tour

Now in its eighteenth year, The Grand Tour is one of the most successful motoring events of its kind in the world. Over the years it has attracted teams from around the world (including Australia, the USA, Nigeria, France, Portugal, Belgium, Holland and Sweden). The event has been started by such luminaries as Jeremy Clarkson and Elizabeth Hurley, and there has even been a tv programme made about it by The Luxury Channel.

In addition to a growing number of tours under the Grand Tour label, GTO Events organises bespoke private tours for individuals and companies (this year we organised a tour to the Monaco Historic Grand Prix for a Ferrari dealership). In 2015 we organised The Highland Tour, part of The Concours of Elegance at The Palace of Holyroodhouse, for which we were awarded Tour of the Year at Octane’s International Historic Motoring Awards.
